Working version here is 0.21.1 - Broken version appeared to be 1.22. So - Presumably the whole Telescope Control Plugin itself was somewhat faulty - Version 0.42 I think it shows - has that Now been updated? or Stellarium itself? Installed - everything back to 100% working. I uninstalled that version and found a Version I had in the Downloads folder from 2021. I didn't seem to have those problems my end, and tonight when setting up I have found the Exact same problems, and realised I had Upgraded to the same version he had, and now My same config crashing. However subsequently although Stellarium would open as soon as you clicked on Telescope Control Stellarium would crash either quickly or a Slow CTRL+ALT+DEL Death. That worked as we both have EQMod for mounts (EQ6 for me and HEQ5 for him.) We found that one way to get around that was I shared my telescopes.json file. Issue we initially found with one User was Not able to Add a Scope. Heeeloooo All - we came across this problem only last night and upon downloading Latest version. Same steps tested after deinstallation of stellarium 1.22.3 win64 and reinstall of version 0.22.2 win64 and everything works as expected - new telescope (mount) is recognized and can be slewed with stellarium 0.22.2 System Open configuration window -> goto TAB "Plugins" -> choose "Telescope control" -> configure -> add new telescope (list of telescopes is empty = new installation) -> choose your config (simulation or ASCOM had been tried) -> press "OK" (but this has no function and no effect - window is still open, config not saved) Open configuration window -> goto TAB "Plugins" -> choose "Telescope control" -> tic load at startup and restart stellarium net 3.5, ASCOM 6.6, iOptron / or EQMOD for Skywatcher (both same result regarding "actual behavior"), stellarium 1.22.3 "OK" can be clicked but has no function - config is not stored and dialog can only be exited by cancel (or "X" in upper corner) Steps to reproduceįresh installation of: Windows. We've attached the full changelog below if you're curious to know every little improvement that landed in this update to the most popular astronomical observatory software, and you can download Stellarium 0.16.0 for GNU/Linux, macOS, and Microsoft Windows operating systems from our website.Adding a new telescope (mount) to stellarium telescope plugin can be finished by clicking "OK" (previously made configuration is stored - telescope configuration window is closed). Stellarium includes a ‘TelescopeControl’ plug-in that supports slewing for a set of commonly used telescopes. It appears to be primarily focused on providing rich, realistic visualization tools for the night sky along with extensive catalogs of deep-sky objects. Please note that the new Stellarium 0.16 series is based on the Qt5.6 application framework, which many of you should have installed on your GNU/Linux distributions, but it can also be built from sources with Qt 5.4. Stellarium is free, open-source planetarium that runs on a variety of platforms. Lots of other enhancements were added in Stellarium 0.16.0, and among some of the the changes that caught our eye, we can mention the addition of extra catalogs of uncommon galaxies, context support for asterism and constellation names, configurable options to AstroCalc tool including the ability to control date and time formatting settings and support for variable and double stars.Ī total of 38 bugs have been closed in this major update, which is recommended to anyone using Stellarium 0.15.2 or a previous release. Extra catalogs of uncommon galaxies have been added Moreover, the AstroCalc feature was updated as well with What's Up Tonight, graphs, and other small improvements. There's support for the RTS2 telescope system with TLE tracking has been added in the Telescope plugin, it's now possible to read the current location from a GPS device, and the solar system configuration file was split into two parts. Stellarium 0.16.0 is a stable version that introduces some exciting new features, such as a RemoteSync plugin that lets users run multiple instances of the application, supports non-spherical models for solar system objects like small moons and asteroids, and new Skycultures, including Belarusian and Hawaiian Star Lines. Alexander Wolf released today Stellarium 0.16.0, a new major update of the open-source and cross-platform planetarium software for GNU/Linux, Android, macOS, and Windows platforms.
